Off Ice Workout Contest

Winners announced and all time record broken

The Rivertown Hockey Workout contest ended on May 15th and was a huge success. We run the contest in hopes of inspiring as many players as possible to dedicate themselves to get a little better everyday.

Jack Davis - 2011 Muskies not only took 1st place but broke the all time record by 1 workout held by Lucas Pearl for number of workouts. His dad said “he set his mind to winning and the results were visible in his on ice performance”

This is why we run the contest! To be a great hockey player takes dedication and learning how to keep the mindset of getting a little better every day. It doesn’t take a lot of money, it takes individual dedication. Congratulations to Jack!

Taking second was Clayton Schletz, 2014 Bronzebacks, who has had a track record of working hard for several years.

3rd place was Zachary Czaplewski, 2014 Muskies. He had a solid performance and won some great stuff.

Contest

If you haven't started... start now. I bet you can still win something!

Rivertown Hockey is holding a contest for all Rivertown players that will run from January 15th - May  15th.

On this page are 8 workout videos with hockey specific supersets that a player can accomplish in 20 minutes or so. These supersets are body weight exercises for any age and can be done with little to no equipment. The player just follows along with the video. You play it 4 times and that counts as 1 full workout.

There is a log sheet here for you to print out. Each workout must be signed for by a parent. Here is the form

Here is a link to buy a sideboard  for about $200. The best tool made for stride work! You may also be able to find them cheaper. If you do not have a slideboard, you can substitute stride jumps.

Each year we have done this contest, there has been some players that were really dedicated which was fun to see. We hope this will help motivate kids to get a little better, stronger and faster every day. The top 5 or more, who do the most workouts (minimum average of 6 per month) will win some awesome fishing gear! Details on the website. https://www.rivertownhockey.com/contest
